Many of our customers ask us about courses available for training their new personnel or where they can get additional training on filter testing. Here is a list and brief description of the course offerings. Also, ATI offers a professional courtesy discount of 5% to members in good standing of CETA, IAFCA, or NEBB organizations.

American Biological Safety Association (ABSA)
ABSA is a professional association. The majority of their membership is involved with biological safety. They hold an annual technical meeting where papers are presented on the latest developments in the biological field. Controlled Environment Testing Association (CETA)
CETA is a professional association. The majority of their membership is involved with testing biological safety cabinets and ancillary equipment, including cleanrooms. CETA publishes a peer reviewed quarterly technical journal (Performance Review) which has articles on the latest developments in the filter certification field. Performance Review also contains up to date tech bulletins from most of the manufacturers of equipment used in filter certification, including ATI's. They hold an annual technical meeting where papers are presented on various subjects in the filter certification field. Eagleson Institute
The Eagleson educational organization was created by the owner of The Baker Co. They offer many courses throughout the year, both basic and advanced, and are located in Maine . For more specific information call Mary Ann Sondrini at 207-490-1076 or eagleson@eagleson.org.

Forma Scientific
Forma Scientific manufactures clean benches, biological cabinets, incubators, and similar devices. They offer courses at various times of the year depending on attendees preference. The free course is tailored to the students and includes theory, basics, and hands on training. For specific information contact Mike Martin at 800-848-3080.

Harvard School of Public Health
"In-Place Filter Testing Workshop" is a training program to prepare for testing and certification of systems containing HEPA filtration & gas absorption systems used for nuclear & non-nuclear applications.  For information call 617-384-8692 or Email contedu@hsph.harvard.edu .

The Harvard School of Public Health is also offering a course entitled "Building Design and Engineering Approaches to Airborne Infection Control".
This two week, multi disciplinary continuing education course is globally unique in that it brings together a body of technical expertise common to the control of human airborne infections. These include tuberculosis (including drug resistant strains), H1N1 virus, pandemic influenza, SARS, and selected bioterrorism agents.

International Air Filter Certifiers Association (IAFCA)
IAFCA is a professional association. The majority of their membership is involved with the testing of biological safety cabinets. IAFCA sponsors a certification program through the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies. They hold an annual technical meeting where papers are presented on various subjects concerning biological safety cabinets. For specific information on IAFCA call 888-679-1904 or iafca@iafca.com .

Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST)
IEST Contamination Control Section is the organization that writes all of the Recommended Practices (RP's) referenced many times in the filtration certification field. They hold an annual technical meeting in May and have tutorial classes on all aspects of cleanrooms lectured by various experts on the subject. Labconco
Labconco manufactures clean benches, biological cabinets, fume hoods, incubators, and similar devices. They offer courses at various times of the year on the equipment they manufacture at a modest charge. The course includes theory, basics, and hands on training. Micro-Clean
Micro-Clean has always had a strong commitment to providing top-level industry training for its employees and customers. As affirmation to this commitment, Micro-Clean is very proud to present our state-of-the-art training facility located in Bethlehem, PA .  This facility includes a classroom style auditorium and specially designed, hands-on TechCenter and Development areas.

National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB)
NEBB has a regular journeyman certification program for filter testing and they are nationally recognized. They publish an excellent "How To" guide entitled, "Procedural Standards for Certified Testing of Cleanrooms." This guide covers all aspects of testing and certifying clean rooms, biological safety cabinets and other laminar flow devices. National Sanitation Foundation (NSF)
This organization has responsibility for writing and maintaining a Standard on biological safety cabinets. The international standard is NSF 49-1992, Class II Biohazard Cabinetry. They also have developed and maintain an international certification program for biological safety cabinets. For additional information contact Tom Bruursema at 800-673-6275 .

Nuaire
Nuaire manufactures clean benches, biological cabinets, fume hoods, incubators, and similar devices. They offer courses at various times of the year on the equipment they manufacture at a modest charge. The course includes theory, basics, and hands on training. Interested participants should contact Peter Weis at 800-328-3352. Additional classes may be scheduled as required. Contact NuAire’s Technical Service Department to check on availability.
